Ingredients

  • 2 large bananas firm and just ripe
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Mandoline slicer (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, 1/8-inch thick rounds. A mandoline slicer is recommended for uniform slices.
  3. In a medium bowl, gently toss the banana slices with the melted coconut oil, cinnamon, and sea salt until lightly coated.
  4. Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding any overlap. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry for 10-14 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep a close watch as they can burn quickly.
  6. Carefully remove the banana chips and place them on a wire rack to cool completely. They will become crispier as they cool.

Notes

Choosing Bananas: Use bananas that are firm and yellow. Overripe, soft bananas will not crisp up as well.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
