Ingredients

For the Crust
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
For the Topping
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup whole almonds

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch Baking Pan
  • 2 Mixing Bowls

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the warm crust. Sprinkle with shredded coconut, then chocolate chips. Arrange the whole almonds on top.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  6. Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares. This is essential for clean cuts.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, toast the almonds for 3-5 minutes in a dry skillet before using.
Ensure the bars are fully cooled before slicing to prevent them from falling apart.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
