Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend recommended
  • 8 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion finely diced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls 12 count
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp dill relish
  • 3 tbsp butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet
  • 1 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • 2 Mixing Bowls

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven preheats, cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove from pan, crumble, and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook over medium-high heat until the beef is browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and dill relish to create the signature burger sauce.
  4. Without separating the rolls, slice the slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread the burger sauce evenly over the bottom buns.
  5. Layer the cooked ground beef mixture over the sauce, followed by the crumbled bacon. Place the cheddar cheese slices on top. Cover with the top half of the rolls.
  6. In another small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, garlic powder, and onion powder. Brush the mixture over the tops of the rolls and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing into individual sliders and serving warm.

Notes

Tip 1: For extra flavor and to prevent sogginess, lightly toast the cut side of the buns before assembling.
Tip 2: These sliders can be fully assembled up to 24 hours in advance. Cover and refrigerate, then bake as directed, adding a few minutes to the covered baking time.
