Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts about 20-24 sprouts, trimmed and washed
  • 10 slices thin-cut bacon cut in half
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly cracked

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Air Fryer Optional
  • Toothpicks

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash the brussels sprouts, trim the ends, and remove any yellow outer leaves. Pat them completely dry.
  3. Cut each slice of bacon in half. Wrap one half-slice around each brussels sprout and secure it with a toothpick.
  4. Place the wrapped sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and balsamic vinegar.
  6. Brush half of the glaze over the sprouts. Sprinkle with black pepper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or air fry for 8-9 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven/air fryer, flip each sprout over, and brush with the remaining glaze. Return to cook for another 10-13 minutes in the oven or 7-9 minutes in the air fryer, until the bacon is crispy and the sprouts are tender.
  8. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving, as the glaze will be hot. Serve warm.

Notes

For Extra Crispy Bacon: Ensure the brussels sprouts are completely dry before wrapping.
Don't Crowd the Pan: Give the sprouts enough space to allow air to circulate for maximum crispiness.
Make-Ahead Tip: Assemble the sprouts up to 24 hours in advance and store them in the fridge. Glaze and bake just before serving.
