Ingredients
  

  • 2 large, firm pears (like Bosc or Anjou) Halved and cored
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter Melted
  • 3 tbsp light brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans Optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash, dry, and slice the pears in half lengthwise. Use a melon baller or small spoon to scoop out the core and seeds.
  3. Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Spoon the brown sugar mixture evenly over the pears, filling the cored centers. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if using.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the pears are tender and the topping is golden and bubbly. Serve warm.
