Ingredients

  • 8 slices Thick-Cut Bacon
  • 4 slices Sourdough Bread or Texas toast
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise for toasting
  • 1/4 cup Ranch Dressing
  • 1/4 cup BBQ Sauce your favorite brand
  • 4 leaves Iceberg or Romaine Lettuce
  • 1 Large Ripe Tomato sliced
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Wire Rack
  • 1 Skillet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on a wire rack set inside a baking sheet. This allows air to circulate and the fat to drip away, ensuring maximum crispiness.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked through and crispy. Cooking time will vary based on the thickness of your bacon. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  3. While the bacon is in the oven, prepare your bread. Spread a thin, even layer of mayonnaise on one side of each of the four slices of bread.
  4. Place the bread slices mayo-side down in a large skillet over medium heat. Toast for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet.
  5. To assemble the sandwiches, take two slices of the toasted bread. Spread a generous layer of ranch dressing on the inside of each slice.
  6. On the bottom slices, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the seasoned tomato slices. Divide the crispy bacon evenly between the two sandwiches, placing it on top of the tomatoes.
  7. Drizzle the BBQ sauce over the bacon. Place the top slices of bread (ranch-side down) onto the sandwiches.
  8. Slice the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately for the best experience.

Notes

Cheese Please: For an extra layer of flavor, melt a slice of sharp cheddar or pepper jack cheese on the bread during the last minute of toasting.
Spice it Up: Add a dash of hot sauce to your BBQ sauce or a pinch of cayenne to your ranch for a spicy kick.
Perfect Bacon Tip: Cooking bacon in the oven on a wire rack is the secret to perfectly flat and crispy bacon every time.
