- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on a wire rack set inside a baking sheet. This allows air to circulate and the fat to drip away, ensuring maximum crispiness.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked through and crispy. Cooking time will vary based on the thickness of your bacon. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- While the bacon is in the oven, prepare your bread. Spread a thin, even layer of mayonnaise on one side of each of the four slices of bread.
- Place the bread slices mayo-side down in a large skillet over medium heat. Toast for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet.
- To assemble the sandwiches, take two slices of the toasted bread. Spread a generous layer of ranch dressing on the inside of each slice.
- On the bottom slices, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the seasoned tomato slices. Divide the crispy bacon evenly between the two sandwiches, placing it on top of the tomatoes.
- Drizzle the BBQ sauce over the bacon. Place the top slices of bread (ranch-side down) onto the sandwiches.
- Slice the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately for the best experience.
Notes
Cheese Please: For an extra layer of flavor, melt a slice of sharp cheddar or pepper jack cheese on the bread during the last minute of toasting.
Spice it Up: Add a dash of hot sauce to your BBQ sauce or a pinch of cayenne to your ranch for a spicy kick.
