Method
- Cook the frozen chicken tenders according to the package instructions, using an oven or air fryer for best results.
- While the chicken cooks, fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- If making homemade honey mustard, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and honey in a small bowl until smooth.
- Place one cooked chicken tender into each hot dog bun.
- Top each tender with two slices of crispy bacon.
- Sprinkle generously with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Drizzle with honey mustard dressing.
- Optional: For melted cheese, place assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and broil for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Serve immediately.
Notes
Toasting Buns: For extra flavor and texture, butter the inside of the hot dog buns and toast them in a skillet until golden before assembling.
Cheese Variations: Feel free to substitute cheddar with Pepper Jack for a spicy kick or Provolone for a milder, creamier melt.
Make-Ahead: You can cook the chicken and bacon ahead of time. Simply reheat them before assembling the sandwiches for a super quick meal.
