Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs ground beef 85/15 recommended
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes undrained
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese divided
  • 1/2 cup milk whole milk preferred
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for one minute until fragrant. Add the diced tomatoes and stir to combine.
  4. In a separate saucepan over low heat, whisk the cream cheese and milk until smooth. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar and the Worcestershire sauce until the cheese is melted.
  5. Pour the cheese sauce over the beef mixture in the skillet and stir well. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and the cheese is golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
