Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant Yeast 1 standard packet
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm Water around 110°F or 43°C
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 tablespoons Butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese low-moisture, whole-milk
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 0.5 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch Baking Pan
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 6-8 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and press it evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Melt the butter and stir in the garlic powder and oregano. Brush this mixture over the dough. Sprinkle evenly with mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then slice into sticks and serve warm.

Notes

For the best cheese pull, shred your own mozzarella from a block.
Store leftover breadsticks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer.
