Method
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 6-8 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Punch down the risen dough and press it evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Melt the butter and stir in the garlic powder and oregano. Brush this mixture over the dough. Sprinkle evenly with mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then slice into sticks and serve warm.
Notes
For the best cheese pull, shred your own mozzarella from a block.
