Ingredients

  • 1 14.3-ounce package Oreo cookies Do not use Double Stuf
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 16 ounces Cool Whip thawed, divided
  • 2 3.4-ounce packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk whole milk recommended
  • 1 package gummy worms for topping

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch pan
  • 1 Food processor or rolling pin
  • 1 Electric hand mixer
  • 2 Large Mixing Bowls

Method

  1. Add the entire package of Oreos to a food processor and pulse into fine crumbs. Reserve 1 cup of crumbs for the topping. Mix the remaining crumbs with melted butter and press firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in half (8 ounces) of the thawed Cool Whip. Spread this mixture over the Oreo crust.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with the cold milk for about 2 minutes, until it begins to thicken.
  4. Pour the thickened pudding over the cream cheese layer and spread evenly. Let it set for 5 minutes. Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the pudding.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup of Oreo crumbs evenly over the top.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight. Decorate with gummy worms before serving.

Notes

Use Room Temperature Cream Cheese: This is critical for a smooth, non-lumpy filling.
Chill Thoroughly: Don't rush the chilling process! An overnight chill yields the best texture and flavor.
Customize It: Try using chocolate pudding for a richer version or serve in individual cups for parties.
