- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly oil a large baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, shredded cabbage, carrots, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, 2 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tsp sesame oil until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold in half, and press firmly to seal. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.
- Arrange the dumplings on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops and sides of each dumpling with neutral oil.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the bottoms are golden brown and crispy and the filling is cooked through.
- While the dumplings are baking, whisk together all ingredients for the dipping sauce in a small bowl.
- Serve the hot oven-baked dumplings immediately with the dipping sauce.
Notes
Tip 1: Ensure your cabbage is finely shredded and lightly squeezed to remove excess moisture for the best filling texture.
Tip 2: Don't overcrowd the baking sheet. Give the dumplings space to ensure they bake evenly and the bottoms get crispy.
Tip 3: You can assemble the dumplings ahead of time and store them in a single layer on a floured baking sheet in the fridge for a few hours before baking.
