Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken legs (drumsticks) skin-on, bone-in
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper or to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Slow Cooker
  • 1 Baking Sheet Optional, for broiling

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, parsley, oregano, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Pat the chicken legs dry and place them in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the chicken, tossing gently to coat all pieces.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
  4. Preheat your oven's broiler. Carefully transfer the chicken legs to a foil-lined baking sheet. Brush with extra sauce from the slow cooker. Broil for 3-5 minutes, watching closely, until the skin is golden and crispy.
  5. Serve immediately, spooning extra sauce over the top.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh, minced garlic instead of garlic powder.
Ensure chicken legs are in a somewhat even layer for consistent cooking.
All slow cookers vary; adjust cooking times as needed based on your appliance.
