Preparation and Baking
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your cast-iron skillet with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until glossy.
- Gently fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in 3/4 cup of the milk chocolate chips. Press the dough evenly into the prepared skillet.
- Press the remaining chocolate chips and heart sprinkles into the top. Bake for 18-22 minutes until edges are golden and center is slightly underbaked. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Tip 1: Cast iron retains heat. Remove the skillet from the oven while the center still looks slightly wobbly so it doesn't overbake.
